An integrated campaign exploring the fun of a group of friends and a 14 Hands Kentucky Derby Party. We took advantage of tropes associated with the Kentucky Derby and aimed at the 25-45 age group. Coupling some funny people with some funny words and funny illustrations and animations.

The Process

The Process

We were caught up in the humor found in the script and decided to push it even harder by playing up the camp of the acting and edit and also utilizing the illustration and animation to augment as well. Drawing on programming from his early childhood, Bobby Hougham whimsically used the edit cut for the comedic “magic” caused by opening the bottle of 14 Hands wine.

Eric Edwards picked up the charge in post and crafted a unique and hip look inspired by Snap Chat filters to augment the story and continue the irreverent humor throughout the 14 Hands Kentucky Derby Party campaign.

We developed several different looks that we felt hit the various marks we were aiming for. Each approached the general strategy in different ways and embodied the voice uniquely.
