Daniel Cohen
Directorial Samples
Daniel Cohen began his obsession with filmmaking at an early age when he “borrowed” his sister’s doll house to use as a prop in his first animations.
Later, as an eager young production runner in London, he photocopied a commercial script he spotted on the sly. In the dark of night, he wrote his own treatment for the script and presented it to the owner of the production company who liked it so much he presented it as his own to the agency.
When the job was later awarded the owner came clean and explained it was Daniel who was the creative behind the treatment and that he was eager to do the job. Giving him his first shot at a real job earned them the honor of multiple awards including Best New Director. Daniel’s career had officially begun.
Over the last 15 years he has created and directed both live-action and stop-motion animated award-winning commercials. Whether miniatures, food, or model making, he is drawn to the tangible quality of handcrafted work and always strives to tell stories that have imagination and charm.
